Baptist South Opens New Patient Tower After much anticipation, Baptist Medical Center South's new eight-story, $85 million expansion opened on June 29, 2009, adding 76 new patient beds. This includes a 14-bed Level II Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that is is a partnership with the neonatal intensive care program at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The new tower also includes an additional 10 labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum suites, 48 acute care beds, and a new inpatient pharmacy and cardiology area. Losing Sleep?
